About this course:

This course is an introduction to the sport industry and is ideal if you think that you would like to work in sport and leisure.

Your studies will include learning about healthy eating, health and fitness and how to deliver a training programme. You will learn how to plan and deliver a sports event and sports session as well as find out about sport and leisure job opportunities.

Some of the course takes place in the classroom but there will be practical sessions.

What you will study:

Where necessary you will be required to study Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English if you do not already hold a minimum of GCSE grade C. (Many universities and employers ask for a minimum of GCSE grade C in both Maths and English).

As part of your study programme various visits will be organised. You will be expected to participate in our Wednesday afternoon enrichment offer and will be able to choose from approximately 5 options which will help you develop skills that employers and universities are looking for in their applicants.

Entry requirements:

4 GCSEs at A* – E or acceptable alternatives (eg Full Foundation Learning Framework) including English Language
